About Our Hospital
Kindred Hospital Dayton is a special kind of hospital that treats a special kind of patient. We are a long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital that specializes in the care of patients with complex extended medical needs. We are located on the 5th and 6th floors of Elizabeth Place.
We offer 67 private beds - eight of which are ICU beds. Kindred Hospital Dayton is part of Kindred Healthcare, Inc., which through its subsidiaries operates more than 80 LTAC hospitals nationwide.
Patients are referred to Kindred Hospitals for continuation of acute medical care because the severity and complexity of their medical condition precludes them from being accepted into a rehab transitional unit, sub-acute facility or a skilled nursing unit. Kindred Hospital is distinguished among its competitors by its focus on caring for higher acuity patients. These patients are typically ventilator-dependent, technology dependent (requiring services such as IV therapy or dialysis) or have medically complex conditions such as pulmonary disease, cardiac disease, pressure wounds or post-operative complications. Kindred Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and is certified by Medicare.
